Series 36/37 High Performance Butterfly Valves
The Keystone K-LOK polymer and elastomer seats provide bi-directional, drop-tight shut-off in vacuum as well as at full rated differential pressure. Blow-out resistant shaft is standard on all valves for increased safety. Unique packing design allows for use in pressure as well as vacuum without modification or special assembly. Disc taper pins are tangentially positioned half in disc and half in shaft, placing them in compression rather than shear, which eliminates potential for failure. Model NeoSeal Lined Butterfly Valves
A PTFE lined solution according ISO 5752/5 short (EN 558-1/T5) with various corrosion resistant disc materials. The pressure to keep the two sealing surfaces of the stem seal together is provided by an upper and lower set of Belleville springs resulting in a superior stem seal, which is TA-Luft / VDI 2440 approved. The elastomer back-up pads behind the liner ensure a tight fit around the disc, for a bubble tight shut-off. The liner and disc are the only two valve parts in contact with the medium. Vacuum tests with helium with pressures less than 20 Pa absolute (0.2 mbarA). Optional TFM lining available for extremely demanding applications.

The inside body is protected by a bonded rubber liner extending over the flanges. Primary stem sealing by preloaded contact between flatted seat surface and rounded polished disc-hub area exceeds the pressure rating of the valve and prevents leakage through shaft area to atmosphere. A secondary sealing is provided by the interference fit between shaft and shafthole in seat at all positions. Dirt-scraper prevents moisture penetrating into the shaft area. Body and disc protective coatings or rubber linings are available for sea water or corrosive services. The special seat and disc edge contours reduce seating torque, provide better shut-off and longer service life. All wetted parts can be reached with steam, cleaning solvents or inert gas.
